The Dr. Pepper Sign was
restored by
Virginia Sign Works, a
Virginia
Electrical Services company. B&B Welding and Lynchburg
Crane provided the crane services. The sign was taken down
on October 23, 2005. On December 28, 2005 starting at 10 PM
Virginia Sign Works and Lynchburg Crane moved the Dr. Pepper
Sign from the parking lot on Salem Avenue to its new home on
top of the Legg Mason Building. The setup process was
finished by 6 AM December 29, 2005. The sign was turned on
at a ceremony on New Years Eve at approximately 6:15 PM.
A special thanks to
Bobbie Simmons and Shawn Ulrich from Virginia Electrical
Services for giving me access to prime locations for
shooting and letting me take these historical pictures.
